EVENTS – The Basketball Christmas Awards reward Como sport

CANTÙ – Pallacanestro Cantù is pleased to announce that the second edition of the Christmas Awards will be held on Tuesday 12 December at Il Nuovo Bosco in via Betulle, 7, in Novedrate. On the evening of the grand gala, created by the GM Alessandro Santoro and the vice-president and patron of the event Walter Sgnaolin, the personalities who have distinguished themselves in 2023 in the field of sport and social life of the Province of Como will be rewarded.
In the evening, in addition to the sports Awards, there will also be Special Awards and Lifetime Achievement Awards for those who have highlighted themselves in their sporting, social and professional life, remembering and giving value to what has been done in the Province of Como over the years and part of Brianza.
“Last year – comments the vice president of Pallacanestro Cantù, Walter Sgnaolin – we launched the first edition of the Christmas Awards, underlining that it would be an annual event in which we recognize each other and celebrate women and men from our territory who work and stand out with great passion for sport and social issues. I am really happy that what we only mentioned in the last edition is confirmed and becomes an annual meeting in which our community can identify. From the first moment we worked to create this event I thought about the value it can give to those who manage to gain popularity, even outside our province, and to those who, by working in the shadows, can bring out the importance of their social and sporting activities. We live in a world where we know the price of everything and little about the value of many. The Christmas Awards wants to rediscover value and values.”
The president of Pallacanestro Cantù was equally enthusiastic and satisfied Roberto Allievi who comments: “I am proud that the club I represent has committed itself again this year to organizing these awards to give fair recognition to those who have distinguished themselves in our territory both in our world, the sporting one, but even off the playing field. For this reason I can only warmly thank Walter Sgnaolin for having worked personally to create what will be a special evening”.
The Nominations, Special Awards and Lifetime Achievement Awards were evaluated and selected by a Commission of Merit, composed of Roberto Allievi, Carlo Recalcati, Edoardo Ceriani, Carlalberto Ludi and Luca Rossini, to guarantee maximum transparency.
The event will be presented by Metis Di MeoRAI television presenter, e Andrea Roncatowell-known actor and television personality.
