They started today the Italian Absolute Badminton Championships. An event that has reached its 46th edition and will take place this weekend in Milan. Let’s take a look at the matches in each draw in detail on this first day.
In the men’s singles Christoper Vittoriani, seeded number one, qualified for the round of 16 after defeating Tonni Zhou and Liam Alex Pelizzari. The surprise is certainly the elimination of number two seed Emmanuel Perna, who was defeated in three games by Giuseppe Monchiero with a score of 17-21; 22-20; 9-6pm.

In the women’s doubles, however, the main seeds have not yet taken to the field. Very few surprises even in the mixed doubles with the victories of Baroni/Piccinin over Bianchi/Dhahri (21-15, 21-11) and of Piccinin/Tognetti over Fellin/Galimberti (21-16, 21-17).
