Real Sociedad forgives Barcelona (0-0)

Joao Felix, Lewandowski, Fermin, Ferran, Pedri, Raphinha, Gavi… a lot of player up during the 90 minutes, but Barcelona hardly had any chances to win in San Sebastián. In fact, they deserved to lose against a Real Sociedad that forgave too much, especially at the beginning of the match. Of course, the forwards did not score, but Araujo did, who scored the winning goal in the 92nd minute. First the goal was disallowed for offside, however, the VAR corrected it and Barcelona took the three points.

First part with an abusive dominance of Real Sociedad both in play and in opportunities. Of course, there were no goals because Ter Stegen was stellar and La Real did not materialize any of the ones it had. There were many. By land and air, but Ter Stegen used his hands and legs to take chances from each and every one of the local players who were looking for the 1-0.

The local intensity was so high that Barcelona’s forwards barely saw the ball. Joao Félix, Fermín and Lewandowski did not touch the ball in the first 45 minutes and only Balde gave a sense of danger and Gavi, who had the only visitor although his failure in the last decision meant that there was not even a shot on goal.

Despite everything, there was controversy before the break with Barcelona having a chance to score. Joao asked for a penalty for a knockdown inside the area, but it was not a penalty against Joao Félix. He brushes her boot so lightly that you can’t even fall from the force of that entry. He dived looking for the penalty.

Barcelona came out better in the second half although Xavi had to make changes because he couldn’t find depth in attack. The Catalan coach removed Fermín and Lewandowsi and Ferrán and Pedri came in, who was returning from injury. Xavi’s move did not go well and in the end he had to change Joao and Cancelo for Yamal and Raphinha. Along the way, a penalty is more than likely not whistled by Koundé on Oyarzabal.

The rest of the game seemed like a will and no-go of both teams that accused the physical display and the fear of losing a point while wanting to win all three. Gavi had the clearest chance, but Remiro took it. And right at the end came Araujo’s goal to give Barcelona the three points. Magnificent pass from Gundogan and both from the Uruguayan with a header. First it was annulled, but in the end what would be the final 0-1 went up on the scoreboard.
