PSV Coach Reveals Insider Strategy for Facing Feyenoord: ‘A Headless Chicken’

has revealed what PSV coach Peter Bosz told him about his direct opponent before the Johan Cruijff Shield match against Feyenoord. The winger was instructed by his trainer to release the Norwegian in the build-up, because he would play like ‘a headless chicken’.

On August 4, reigning national champion Feyenoord and cup winner PSV faced each other for the first time of the season. At the time, Lang was still facing Pedersen, who has now left Feyenoord on a rental basis for the Italian Sassuolo. “I’ll tell you honestly,” says Lang in the Pingelaar Podcast“the trainer literally said: Noa, keep that right back free. You don’t have to put pressure, he’s a chicken without a head.”

Decisive
Next Sunday, both top clubs will face each other again, this time in the Eredivisie. PSV can deliver a potentially decisive blow in the battle for the national title in De Kuip. After all, the current difference of seven points would increase to ten if Bosz’s team manages to take full advantage in South Rotterdam. In any case, Lang is looking forward to it: “We are seven points ahead,” says the winger. “If we win in De Kuip, it’s just decided,” he says confidently.
