Sports Awards Day by CONI and CIP at Palazzo Chigi, in the Sala Maestra, in the presence of the mayor Gianluca Staccoli, the sports councilor Danilo Costantini, the president of the Regional CONI Riccardo Viola and his deputies Mauretti and Persichelli.
The Gold Medals and the Silver and Bronze Stars for Sports Merit, Technical Merit and Athletic Value were awarded. Also present were some sports councilors and other public administrators from the Castelli Romani, as well as many managers and presidents of the various national sports clubs and associations and then the athletes in the afternoon.
Among those awarded also the Veliterno Gianfranco Guicciardi (in the photo above) who for over 30 years has managed and presided over the National Shooting Range of Velletri, in via dei Laghi, which was honored by CONI with the Silver Star at Sports Merit on the stage of the Sala Maestra.
The Veliterno National Shooting Center was founded in 1884, rebuilt after the war. Guicciardi was a national advisor and coach from 1980 to 1992, before becoming president of the Veliterno headquarters, which has 3,000 thousand members, of which 400 are athletes. In the last ten years it has trained 3 national team shooters and currently the TSN Veliterna Society is tenth at national level and sixth in the young people’s ranking.
The event was presented by the former fencing champion Stefano Pantano, now an established radio speaker, and by the former swimming champion Cristina Chiuso.
Also present at the event were the Veliterno sports councilor Paolo Felci, the vice mayor of Castel Gandolfo Cristiano Bavaro, the sports delegates of the municipalities of Ciampino and Colonna, the Coni trustee of the Castelli Romani Sacchetti and the citizen sports delegate of the municipality of Grottaferrata Mauro Fioranelli. The always beautiful and graceful showgirl, model and actress Samantha De Grenet also attended the award ceremony for her father Mario De Grenet, a great and appreciated manager of prestigious National Sailing Clubs and former president of the National Sailing Federation (in the photo below).
