Political Fallout: Pisa Port Authority Earthquake and Resignations Shake Up City Council Commission

The earthquake at the Port Authority of Pisa last week, with the wholesale resignation of the board of directors to remove president Salvatore Pisano, will be at the center of the second control and guarantee commission of the city council, chaired by Matteo Trapani (Pd) and convened at the municipal headquarters next Friday at 1.30 pm. On that occasion the commissioners will try to delve into the causes that have led to the current political collapse of governance and what the future scenarios will be. Mayor Michele Conti took a few days before appointing the new board of directors and the new president (a position that should remain in the hands of the League), but it is not excluded that a decision will be made to identify a new structure which provides for over the political figure of the president also has an operational role entrusted to a manager. Meanwhile, on his Facebook page, the resigning president, Salvatore Pisano, tries to resist and changes the profile picture by inserting in place of his the photo of Yogi Berra, legendary US baseball champion, and father of the famous aphorism: “”It ain’t over ’til it’s over”, or “It’s not over until it’s over”. Pisano doesn’t add any further comments, but the reference to his political condition is more than evident.
