If it were up to Pierre van Hooijdonk, Joshua Zirkzee would soon join the Dutch team. The former footballer predicts that Zirkzee will make his debut with the Dutch national team during the next international match.
Van Hooijdonk watches Bologna, Zirkzee’s club and Sydney van Hooijdonk almost every week. However, Pi-Air’s son hardly gets around to playing. “Because Joshua Zirkzee is at the forefront there. And that is right, because he is doing really fantastic,” he says at NOS.
“If you are talking about boys who are overlooked, then he is someone who will not look out of place in this Dutch team,” Van Hooijdonk continues. “I say ‘will look out of place’ on purpose, because given the limited number of centre-forwards we have, I cannot imagine that he will not be there in March.”
