Hockey forward David Pastrňák assisted on Boston’s winning goal in the duel with Dallas and scored his seventeenth point in the NHL season. Pavel Zacha did not register in the statistics during the 3:2 win, and after six matches he came out with no points.
Boston was the more active shooting team in Dallas for two-thirds of the game and went into the final 20 minutes with a two-goal lead. In the first act, the Bruins took the lead with unconventional shooters. John Beecher opened the scoring and Mason Lohrei made it 2-0. Both hockey players made their mark in the NHL for the first time in their careers.
After five minutes of the third period, the Stars reduced the score thanks to Wyatt Johnston, but the Bruins took back the two-goal lead. Brad Marchand used the power play after Pastrňák and James van Riemsdyk. His shot turned out to be the winner in the end. Dallas scored a touchdown 28 seconds before the end of regulation time, but did not have time to equalize.
Boston won its 10th of the season and rules the Eastern Conference. Dallas, without the injured Radek Faksa, hesitated for the second time in a row and is fourth in the West.
A minor injury did not allow Columbus fullback David Jiříček to participate in the match either. The Blue Jackets, without the native of Klatov, lost to Florida 4-5 in overtime and lost the fourth of the last five games. Florida already led in the match 3-0, but they chased the victory at the last minute. Overtime after a turnover by Columbus, Nick Cousins scored in the last minute of regulation and Carter Verhaeghe decided the win for the Panthers in overtime.
Defenseman Filip Hronek extended his point streak to seven games with two assists in Vancouver’s 6-2 win over Edmonton.
Hronek set up two goals for Vancouver in a 6-2 win over Edmonton and is the league’s fourth-leading scorer with 13 assists. Hronka’s first defense partner Quinn Hughes led the Canucks’ high victory with four points. Brock Boeser scored two goals.
