Overview of Qualifications for Raiffeisen ITF Women’s Val Gardena South Tyrol in Ortisei

The qualification for the Raiffeisen ITF Women’s Val Gardena South Tyrol (25,000 dollars in prize money) in Ortisei has been completed. Here we provide an overview.

Marion Viertler from Schlanders was unable to make it through the second qualifying round and lost to Sofia Milatova (SVK, WTA 702) 6:4 6:2.

Wolkensteiner Laura Mair and her doubles partner Sarah-Rebecca Sekulic from Germany defeated the German pairing Alissia Chiara Gleixner/Karina Hofbauer 6:2 6:4 and are now in the quarter-finals. In the individual, Mair had already cleared the last qualifying hurdle on Sunday.

On Tuesday the games start at 9.30am – it will be a long day as 13 singles games will be played. Lara Pfeifer from Deutschnofen (WTA 856), who plays for TC Rungg, will compete in the second match against Katarina Kozarov from Serbia (WTA 307).

Mair (WTA 697) will not give her best against Diana Marcinkevica from Latvia (WTA 372) in the evening game before 6 p.m. The Italian Lisa Pigato (WTA 388) has drawn a difficult draw and has to compete against the German Mona Barthel (WTA 247), who was already ranked No. 23 in the world in 2013.
