“There was disrespect the whole game,” complained the 36-year-old after his 6:4, 6:4 in the second singles against Cameron Norrie and confronted the supporters after the end of the game. The British fan group should “learn how to behave”.
The supporters tried to drown out Djokovic’s victory speech with drums after the end of the game. “I tried to talk and they deliberately started drumming so as not to let me talk,” explained the world number one: “It’s normal for fans to cross the line, and in the heat of the moment you have to react and show that this kind of behavior is not tolerated.”

The spectators can “do whatever they want, but I will react to it,” Djokovic said.
He had already felt disturbed by the British fans during the game and held his hand to his ear after every point he won in the second set. “They tried to annoy me the whole match, so we had a little chat at the end,” said the 24-time Grand Slam champion.
His Serbs secured their ticket to the semi-finals with a 2-0 win against Great Britain.
