NHL | New Jersey – Buffalo 7:2, Palát spoiled Kulich’s debut with two points, Pastrňák scored in the shootout with the Rangers

New Jersey had lost three straight before the game against Buffalo and fell to 14th in the Eastern Conference. At home, the Devils resolutely faced the unfavorable balance. Alexander Holtz opened the scoring after 91 seconds, and during the first period the Devils made it three more times.

Palát had a hand in New Jersey’s third and fourth goals. Before the shot to make it 3:0, the Czech attacker was brilliantly caught by goalkeeper Eric Comrie, but the kicked puck arrived behind the goal line by Nico Hischier. In the 19th minute, the native of Frýdek-Místek got the chance to score for the second time in the season. Jesper Bratt led a quick counter-attack on the right side, who found a lonely Palat and he headed exactly into the upper left corner.

The Devils kept their lead and allowed Buffalo only 12 shots for the entire game. Vaněček was not enough for the attempts of Jeff Skinner and Kyle Okpos, despite that he led the team to a win for the eighth time in the season.

Kulich played almost 15 minutes in his debut and sent one shot at Vaněček. The 19-year-old student of Chomutova spoke about his invitation to the first team of the Sabers with great performances on the farm in Rochester, where he has already collected 17 points and is the third best scorer in the AHL with eleven goals.

Boston lost two games in a row for the first time this season. After the home loss against Detroit, the Bruins didn’t even manage the match on the ice of the NY Rangers, where they lost 4:7. Chris Kreider and Artěmij Panarin managed the high victory of the New York team with three points.

Boston kept the Rangers scoring pace only in the first half of the match. The home team jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but the Bruins tied the score at 2-2 in the 15th minute after Lauk’s recording and Morgan Geekie’s shooting action.

The Rangers sent Kreider into the lead again, but the Bruins found an answer to his goal as well. After 26 seconds of the second period, Pastrňák prevailed on the power play. The Czech gunner used Zach’s pass and scored the 13th goal of the season.

The rest of the match already belonged to the Rangers. The home team dominated the second half clearly 4:1 and, after winning 7:4, moved to the top of the Eastern Conference in points ahead of the Bruins.
