NHL | Impossible! Vaněček charmed the NHL with a dream intervention

The hockey players of the New Jersey Devils have played eleven games this year, eight of which were played by Vaněček. It was no different in the night battle against Chicago. Moreover, the native of Havlíčkov Brod immediately showed why he was the one in goal six times in the Devils’ seven winning matches.

Although Vaněčka beat Hall after less than two minutes of the game, the guests turned the game around thanks to Marcer and Willman by the end of the first period. However, it was at the end of the game that the Czech goalkeeper made a dream save. After a mistake in the Devils’ defense, two Blackhawks players rushed at the Czech goalkeeper against a single defender.

They coped with the lone defending back without any problems, and Tyler Johnson was already yawning at an almost completely empty goal. However, when the Jestřáb fans were slowly celebrating a certain equalizer, Vaněček showed with an incredible save that you can really catch anything and saved his team’s lead with a great robinsonade.

“It was a move that will appear in the action videos of the season. Such moments can energize a team and it showed today. Thanks to that, we caught a rhythm that helped us to an important win,” Devils coach Lindy Ruff marveled at the performance of the Czech goalkeeper.

In the third period, thanks to Lazar, New Jersey increased the difference to two goals, and even though the home team once again got within range thanks to Donat, McLeod gave the visitors the final certainty with a goal into the empty net.

Vaněček could boast of a fantastic success rate of over 94 percent. New Jersey is third in the Eastern Conference standings behind Boston and the New York Rangers.
