New Orleans Pelicans Set to Receive Important Boost with Return of Injured Players

The New Orleans Pelicans will receive an important boost in the upcoming games after completing the first stretch of the season with several injuries of varying severity and relevance.

According to an official statement shared by the franchise, CJ McCollum, Trey Murphy III and Matt Ryan are very close to dressing short and returning to the NBA courts. While McCollum has been listed as ‘questionable’ for this Wednesday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers, his two teammates carry the tag of ‘doubtful’.

McCollum has been sidelined since Nov. 4 after being diagnosed with a minor collapsed lung. For his part, Murphy III has not yet made his debut this season after suffering an injury to the meniscus in his left knee during training at the beginning of last September. In the case of Ryan, the player has not participated in any duel since November 18 due to muscle discomfort.

Despite all those absences, the Pelicans have been able to hold their own in the Western Conference. Although they occupy ninth position with a neutral balance of 9-9, their 3-1 record in the NBA Cup has allowed them to advance to the quarterfinals, where they will face the Sacramento Kings.
