After two years of work completed last spring, a 20,000 m2 storm basin is now buried under the baseball field of the Malcombe sports club. During this period, the local baseball club, the Baseball Badgers, was therefore forced to train and play matches elsewhere. Once the project was completed, a brand new baseball field was built with regulatory dimensions and installation of appropriate equipment (fence, bulletproof nets, red alpha schist infield, colored posts at the corners of the outfield for the delimitation of good balls, new benches).
Resumption of training
If the GBM Major Works Department carried out the design studies and monitoring of the basin works, it also collaborated closely with the baseball club and the City Sports Department to design and build equipment that met the standards. and the needs linked to this sporting practice which is still not widespread in France. The brand new field was delivered to the Baseball Badgers this summer and practices have resumed.
