NBA – Rick Carlisle impressed by Victor Wembanyama

The Indiana Pacers held Victor Wembanyama to just 12 points and beat San Antonio 152:111, but before the game, Pacers coach Rick Carlisle raved highly about the French teenager, who, among other things, scored 38 points against Phoenix a few days ago achieved.

“We haven’t seen a player like that before,” Carlisle stated. “He’s just as good as you expected before his debut. His influence, his skill, the incredible highlights – these are things we’ve never seen before,” said Carlisle before the game and added: “A lot is possible I can’t explain it, but I have to watch it live now.”

And the Pacers certainly had Wembanyama under control, once Wemby was even cleared by Pacers center Isaiah Jackson. This has only happened twice to the Frenchman this season – against Robert Covington and Kevin Durant.

NBA – Robert Williams III is threatening to end the season

Robert Williams III has to go under the knife. As Adrian Wojnarowski (ESPN) reports, the center, who only moved from Boston to Portland in September as part of the Jrue Holiday trade, needs knee surgery.

According to The Athletic, the center now has two options: Either he opts for surgery to repair the bone and ligament damage in the knee or he simply has the knee “cleaned out,” which would mean Williams would only miss two to three months. No decision has been made here yet.

Williams is the backup center in Portland behind the newly acquired Deandre Ayton. In an average of 19.8 minutes, Williams put up 6.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game.

NBA – Warriors host All-Star Game

The Golden State Warriors will host the 2025 All-Star Game at Chase Center. The NBA announced this in a statement. This will be the Warriors’ third time hosting the All-Star Game, previously in 1967 and 2000.

At that time, this happened in Oakland before the Warriors moved to the new Chase Center in downtown San Francisco in 2019. The festivities will take place between February 14th and 16th in the Bay Area.

This season the All-Star Game will take place in Indianapolis.

NBA – Jamal Murray lost to the Denver Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets will be without Jamal Murray for some time. The point guard is suffering from a hamstring strain and it is unclear how long the Canadian will be out. Coach Michael Malone stated that Murray will not return anytime soon.

The guard was injured in the Nuggets’ win over the Bulls over the weekend and had to leave the field after just nine minutes. Reggie Jackson, who was also in the starting five in the win against the New Orleans Pelicans (134:116), played for him.

Murray played an important role in winning the title last year, but once again had a slow start to the season. In seven games, Murray averaged 16.3 points and 7.4 assists while shooting 43 percent from the field and 44 percent from the three-point line.
