National: emblematic coach of AS Nancy, Pablo Correa returns to save the club

History, even in football, is an eternal beginning. Since November 18, the new coach of AS Nancy is… Pablo Correa. The Franco-Uruguayan Pablo Correa (56 years old) once again takes charge of the Lorraine club which is now playing in the National. He succeeds Benoît Pedretti who has suffered from poor results since the start of the season. “With his high-level experience, his leadership qualities and his perfect knowledge of the club, the shareholders and managers decided that he was the ideal profile to fulfill the complicated mission of ensuring the maintenance of the club at the end of the season. He will lead his first session tomorrow (Sunday) in the company of his assistant Adrian Sarkissian,” indicates the club in a press release.

Correa knows the Nancy house better than anyone. This is the third time that he has taken charge of AS Nancy Lorraine, alternating between Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. During his first stint, between 2002 and 2011, he won a league title. Ligue 2 (2005) and lifted the League Cup (2006). For his second stint, between 2013 and 2017, he again won a Ligue 2 championship title (2016). He has already led 549 meetings with Nancy.

His mission this time promises to be delicate. Nancy is in penultimate place in National after 13 days and the next matches promise to be complicated with the reception of Rouen (3rd) and a trip to Le Mans (6th). His roadmap is clear: prevent the Nancy club, Michel Platini’s training club, from going even lower. And it doesn’t look easy.
