National coach Julian Nagelsmann is keeping a low profile before the friendly in Austria

Julian Nagelsmann didn’t look too deeply into his cards before the “derby” on Tuesday (8.45 p.m./ZDF) in Vienna against Austria – with one exception.

“It could also be that we see a different player,” said the national coach about Kai Havertz, who surprisingly played on the left side for the first time against Turkey (2:3). But if Havertz is “top fit,” Nagelsmann added on Monday, “he is also an option for tomorrow.” He rejected criticism of the Arsenal FC professional.

Nagelsmann also reiterated that he would “definitely not let any other order play out.” This means that a back four are expected in front of goalkeeper Kevin Trapp, who will continue to replace the departed Marc-Andre ter Stegen (back). Mats Hummels could move into this position for Jonathan Tah.

It is questionable whether Joshua Kimmich will play in the double six again alongside captain Ilkay Gündogan; Nagelsmann did not answer a corresponding question.

Florian Wirtz and Leroy Sane could form the offensive three-man line this time with Serge Gnabry instead of Julian Brandt, with Niclas Füllkrug playing in the attack again.
