Moroccan Judoka Abderrahmane Boushita Secures Gold Medal at Oceania Open, Boosting Olympic Qualification Chances

Moroccan judoka Abderrahmane Boushita won the gold medal (-66 kg) at the Oceania Open, a Grand Prix level tournament, organized in Perth, Australia, on November 10 and 11.

The Moroccan champion beat the Finn Luukas Saha in the final of this tournament. In the semi-final, he got the better of the Cypriot Georgios Balarjishvili.

With this brilliant participation in the Oceania Open, Abderrahmane Boushita, ranked 37th in the world in his weight category, considerably increases his chances of qualifying for the Paris-2024 Olympic Games.

The Oceania Open-2023 saw the participation of 299 judokas representing 64 countries.
