Mohamed Ihattaren is currently staying in the Netherlands, as became clear last Sunday during the match between Almere City FC and Ajax (2-2). The former Ajax player was spotted in the stands at the Yanmar Stadium and is not without reason in the country: this week the foreclosure sale of his spacious home in Vleuten will follow.

The auction of the house at Haarzichtlaan 33 in Vleuten will take place on Thursday, November 16 from 9:00 am via Vastgoedveiling BV. De Telegraaf reported at the beginning of August that bailiffs had seized Ihattaren’s house, which is now being put up for forced sale.

In August, the morning newspaper reported that Ihattaren had incurred a debt of at least five thousand euros to the De Dommel water board and furniture company Sucasa, including for a custom-made dining table. Two bailiffs eventually seized his home in Vleuten, because the 21-year-old Utrechter did not respond to several reminders, messages and telephone calls. The mansion in Vleuten will be auctioned on Thursday. Interested parties can place a bid online.

Funda states that the price is on request and that it is not possible to view the property. Previously, the asking price of the spacious terraced house was still visible when Ihattaren put the house up for sale. A foreclosure sale is the final step of a long procedure in which the debtor is given the opportunity to pay voluntarily or make a payment arrangement until the last moment.

Reduced asking price
The mansion in Vleuten has been for sale for some time and the asking price has dropped several times. Ihattaren bought the property in 2022 for 962,500 euros and put it up for sale less than a year later for 925,000 euros. The asking price then dropped to 895,000 euros, after which the asking price later dropped again to 850,000 euros.

A spokesperson for BVA Auctions responded to De Telegraaf about the auction of Ihattaren’s mansion. According to him, hundreds of homes are sold at foreclosure auctions every year. “We have 300 to 400 homes alone, but it is not nearly as many as before. This is because the financiers often also have a process to help people, which means that these types of matters are handled with care.”

At the beginning of last year, Ihattaren also put his multi-million dollar villa in Tilburg up for sale. The former top talent of PSV and Ajax did this less than three months after purchasing the luxurious home. Ihattaren made a loss of a few thousand euros on that villa. Now the left leg also seems to be making quite a loss on his mansion in Vleuten. After purchase, the future buyer can count on a living area of 189 square meters with a sunny backyard.
