Minnesota needs to beat the Bears on “Monday Night Football” to set a new betting house record

“Monday Night Football” can make NFL betting history if the Minnesota Vikings can cover as 3-point favorites against the Chicago Bears.

Favorites have covered the line in 12 of 15 games in Week 12, tying the record for the most in a single week (2017 Week 12) in the Super Bowl era. According to ESPN Stats & Information, there has never been a week in the Super Bowl era in which the favorites covered the betting line in 13 games.

The Week began with one of the biggest surprises in history on Thanksgiving Day. The Green Bay Packers beat the Detroit Lions by a resounding 29-22 as 8.5-point underdogs, the third-biggest Thanksgiving Day line-bet upset since the 1970 AFL/NFL merger. It was also one of the most bet on games of the season and started the holiday weekend with a victory for the casinos.

Bettors would bounce back in a big way, starting with blowout victories by the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers to end the day on Thanksgiving Day, followed by the Miami Dolphins’ easy win over the New York Jets on Black Friday . The favorites continued to win on Sunday, finishing 8-2 against the line. The New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons were the only underdogs to win on Sunday.

“Probably the biggest week [en la temporada de fútbol americano] for customers,” Craig Mucklow, vice president of operations at Caesars Sportsbook, said Sunday.
