Minnesota Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards Suffers Scare on the Court

When everything is going smoothly, there is always fear of any unforeseen event that could cause the plan to go awry. Well, last night there were few who didn’t have to hold their breath when they saw Anthony Edwards writhing in pain on the hardwood after a nasty fall.

The blow, which caused a bruise on the right side of his hip, took place in the third quarter of the Minnesota Timberwolves’ home game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Wolves All-Star tried to dunk on Kenrich Williams and ended up falling face-first onto the hardwood. The blow was such that he quickly winced in pain and was unable to get up for more than a minute. Here is the action.

Once Edwards was able to rejoin, he was helped by his teammates to get to the bench to, after a timeout, shoot two free throws and remain on the court for a few more possessions; However, his mobility was reduced and he ended up being replaced and never returned.

After the game, Minneapolis coach Chris Finch said he had no more details about his star’s injury or whether he could be away from the field for a few games. Remember that Minnesota hosts Utah on Thursday and plays at Charlotte on Saturday.

For the peace of mind of Timberwolves fans, and in the absence of pertinent evidence to confirm it, it seems that everything will remain a scare; So much so that after being treated in the locker room, Edwards rejoined the bench smiling and joking with his teammates in a game that they ended up winning 106-103 to consolidate his first position in the Western Conference.
