Millonarios Fans Protest Colombian President After Team’s Victory

During this Sunday, November 26, a new match took place at the El Campín stadium in Bogotá. The match between Millonarios and Medellín left the fans of the ambassador team with a feeling of joy, after the team recorded a 1-0 victory against Deportivo Independiente Medellín, who went home empty-handed.

Although different episodes of the game generated controversy, the truth is that an event after the match was the one that produced all kinds of reactions on social networks. The Millonarios fans left the stadium strongly rejecting the National Government, headed by President Gustavo Petro.

In several videos taken by fans in the stadium, a crowd could be heard shouting in unison “Petro Out,” one of the protest phrases that has become more popular in recent weeks, due to widespread unrest against the current administration. , which for many has been negligent and ineffective in solving the problems that the country has.

In a first video, shared by the senator of the Democratic Center, María Fernanda Cabal, you can see how a large group of fans leaving through one of the stadium entrances, located on Carrera 30 or NQS, repeats the controversial phrase, as they raise their arms.

Given the facts, the senator assured that this is the true example of the perception that citizens have regarding the execution of the current Government.

“This is the true survey that indicates the high rate of rejection that Petro causes. The CNE survey is contracted by Casa de Nariño and serves to feed Gustavo’s ego,” commented Cabal.

The senator refers in her post to the most recent survey that was contracted by the Casa de Nariño itself, which indicated that 51.7% of Colombians have a positive image of the president and that goes against the result of another recent survey. , in which it is stated that the president’s disapproval, on the contrary, rises to 66%.

For many, the survey contracted by the same presidency would have flawed results, as it was financed by the same entity, which clearly needs to maintain a positive image among Colombians.

This is another angle of the moment, which was captured by Internet users and shared on networks.

This type of protest has become much more common during the last month, in which different sporting events have been held in which the phrase has been heard, which basically invites the president to leave the Government.

The first episode took place a little over a week ago, more precisely on November 16, when the match between the Colombian National Team and the Brazilian National Team was being played.

In the middle of the meeting, the harangues against the Government began to be heard louder, so much so that recordings from different locations in the stadium were known on social networks, which showed the annoyance of the attendees.

The episode became more controversial because some members of the presidential family such as Verónica Alcocer and one of the president’s daughters, Antonella Petro, were in that stadium.

Faced with the wave of harangues, Antonella decided to leave the platform and leave the stadium, a fact that was later condemned by the President of the Republic, who did not recognize the peaceful protest that took place in the place and, on the contrary, attacked the Protestants, ensuring that the comments were against his daughter and not against him.

However, the stadiums have not been the only settings where the general rejection of the Government’s policies has been expressed, since in a recent meeting organized this weekend, by the Circle of Non-Commissioned Officers of the Colombian Military Forces, several Members of the Active Reserve began to sing the chant.
