The Manchester curse continues!
RB Leipzig loses 2:3 at Man City – and the horror series continues! Leipzig suffered its fourth Champions League defeat in the English working-class city at the fourth attempt – and now has a goal difference of 5:21.
The shocking moment for RB: Super dribbler Xavi Simons (20) had to go out injured in the 75th minute, complaining of shoulder problems. Before that there is a duel with ex-Dortmunder Akanji, Simons falls unhappily on his shoulder. He must be taken from the field with support by carers.

The evening started really well!
Before the game, RB coach Marco Rose (47) demanded “greed and consistency” from his team. The virtues are there immediately, Leipzig gets off to a top start – also because an ex-Dortmunder makes a bad mistake!
13th minute: Leipzig keeper Blaswich with the long ball to the top, Openda puts his body in between against Akanji, effortlessly cooks the Swiss and then marches into the penalty area. Openda scores 1-0 with a low shot!

35th minute: Leipzig breaks free in its own half, Simons serves Openda again on the left side. The Belgian opponent Ruben Dias blocks again strongly, then dribbles left into the penalty area, moves inside and scores through the legs of ex-Leipzig player Gvardiol to make it 2-0!
City are rarely dangerous in the first half. Lewis (30th) and Haaland (35th) hit the ball over from the penalty area.
Leipzig had three shots at the break, two of which were in the net – Rose was greedy!

87th minute: The outstanding Foden serves Alvarez in the middle of the penalty area, who makes it 3-2!
Both teams had already qualified for the round of 16 before the game. City is now the group winner, Leipzig will move into the round of 16 in second place. On the last matchday, City will face Belgrade, Leipzig will play against Bern (December 13th, 6:45 p.m.).

The victory was overshadowed by fan Zoff!
What happened?
RB had registered all fan banners, but the city stewards didn’t want to allow any into the stadium. As BILD learned, there was a dispute between stewards and RB supporters. Only when club representatives from the Saxons came to help were the banners allowed into the block. But the fans involved in the dispute were locked out!
A total of around 1,200 RB fans were in the stadium, but the active fan scene boycotted the support because of the banner dispute. No wonder, there had already been a clash between City officials and RB fans in March. There was at least one arrest at that time.
Leipzig’s home game against Heidenheim awaits on Saturday (3:30 p.m.). City hosts Tottenham on Sunday (5.30 p.m.).
