‘Luis Suárez will play with Lionel Messi again after breakthrough’

Luis Suárez will be reunited with his good friend Lionel Messi, the Uruguayan branch of ESPN assures. The 36-year-old Grêmio striker is about to sign a contract with Inter Miami. The transition will then take place on January 1, 2024.
The contract that Suárez signed with Grêmio after the World Cup in Qatar actually runs for another year until the end of 2024, but the Brazilian club is willing to let the attacker move to the United States.
Suárez – Uruguay’s all-time top scorer with 68 goals in 137 games – is currently Grêmio’s top scorer with 10 goals and 10 assists in 26 league games.
Partly thanks to the efforts of the former Ajax player, Grêmio is at the top of the Brazilian Série A. The two-time champion is fourth in the rankings, six points behind leader Botafogo. There are still seven games to go.
Last summer, Inter Miami already investigated the possibility of signing Suárez. The club of co-owner David Beckham has quickly been transformed into an enclave full of Barcelona icons. Soon after Messi’s arrival, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba also joined Miami.
Suárez played alongside the stars at Barcelona between 2014 and 2020. The attacker became very good friends with Messi and also had fantastic years in terms of sports. With 198 goals in 283 official matches, Suárez is number three on the list of club top scorers of all time. Messi tops that list with no fewer than 672 goals in 778 matches.
Last month, Inter Miami coach Gerardo Tata Martino confirmed that Miami is still interested in Suárez. “If an opportunity arises to make Suárez’s arrival at Inter Miami official, we will certainly not fail to do so,” Martino said.
