Lotte Kopecky and Lindsay De Vylder Dominate Belgian Track Cycling Championships

Lotte Kopecky celebrated her birthday yesterday with the Belgian titles in the scratch and the points race, but she was not done partying yet.

The world road champion could not be controlled in the omnium either. After four tests, Kopecky won the BK omnium with 218 points, 80 points more than number 2 Lani Wittevrongel. The bronze went to Katrijn De Clercq.

Lindsay De Vylder, who had already won gold in the points race and the team race, also scored a hat trick in the omnium.

De Vylder had won 162 points at the end of the omnium. Fabio Van Den Bossche came second with 143 points, the surprising promise Milan Van Den Haute third with 125 points.

Kopecky and De Vylder had an excellent test with a view to the Six Days of Ghent next week. De Vylder and Robbe Ghys are the outgoing winners, Kopecky will compete in the two-day women’s competition in Ghent.
