Ligue 2: in a busy Charléty, Paris FC crucified at the last minute by Bordeaux

With 13,472 spectators, Paris FC broke its record for a regular season match in Ligue 2 (excluding the play-off). But in the end, it was the Bordeaux parking lot, deprived of its ultras (who did not make the trip after the banning orders were finally canceled on Saturday morning by the Administrative Court) which sang to celebrate the victory (1- 2.90th + 4).

Paris FC has surely attracted occasional spectators who will certainly come back to take advantage of the free operation at Charléty. But he saw his unbeaten streak (3 wins, 1 draw) come to a cruel halt.

In terms of organization, there were no security concerns around the match. But a recurring problem inherent to the structure of Charléty (insufficient ticket offices) which will remain insoluble if spectators continue to arrive at the stadium only a few minutes before kick-off.

Many spectators arrive late

Despite the recommendations of Paris FC, the stands only filled up little by little even though the match had already started. We saw many spectators continue to enter the stadium at least until the 30th minute.

On the other hand, with 13,472 spectators for a gauge set at 15,000, this means that the no-show rate was lower than during the first of the free operation 15 days ago against Bastia. On that front, there has been progress.

The large audience was just waiting to get excited. But he left the stadium certainly wondering how Paris FC managed to lose this match at the last second.

As for the Parisian players, incomprehension, even anger, could be seen in their faces as they returned to the locker room. After a stupidly conceded corner, Barbet, the Bordeaux captain, took advantage of rather loose marking to place a header that Obed Nkambadio failed to capture (1-2, 94th).

Kebbal, the little prince of Charléty, entertained… in vain

A small hold-up and a cruel scenario for the PFC which quickly returned to the match with a penalty from Ilan Kebbal (12th), his 3rd goal of the season, after Bordeaux opened the score (8th). Once again above the rest, Kebbal, the little prince of Charléty, delighted. Paris FC multiplied the crosses, the shifts and shook up a Bordeaux team, often in dire straits, especially in the second half. But he missed too often.

In defense of this team, Stéphane Gilli, had to change system again. He started the match without a professional center forward due to injuries to Lamine Diaby Fadiga, Mohamed Touré (in the Australian hopeful selection). Decreased, Pierre-Yves Hamel was only able to enter for the last 25 minutes and missed two good chances (77th, 79th). Sofiane Alakouch, ill, was only able to train for 30 minutes during the week and he only returned for the last quarter of an hour. Jules Gaudin was also diminished. It’s starting to add up to a lot in addition to the long-term absentees (Lopez, Gueye, Chergui, Lasne, Doucet, Kolodziejczak…). The PFC even finished with the young Oumar Sissoko (17 years old) in front.

“I don’t know how we could have lost this match either,” sighs Stéphane Gilli. I have to look at it cold to understand. Even on the Bordeaux side, they told us that no team had mistreated them like that… Compared to what we proposed, as a lover of football and the game, I can be happy. But as a competitor, it’s hard. I think people had fun but the defeat hurts… When you can’t be killer in the highlights, you’re never safe from a failed clearance and a communication error like on their corner in the 94th. But like I told the boys, we have to raise our heads and rely on what we have produced to get going again. »
