Two of Feyenoord’s group members have suffered a defeat in the run-up to next week’s Champions League matches. Lazio Roma, which will host Feyenoord next Tuesday, lost 1-0 to Bologna. Atlético Madrid lost 2-1 to Las Palmas.

Bologna, playing at home, had a Dutch touch with Joshua Zirkzee and Sam Beukema as basic players. Zirkzee also played a role in the only goal: Lewis Ferguson scored the only goal just after half-time on a pass from the Dutch striker.

For Lazio it was the fifth league defeat of the season. The team is eighth in Serie A after 11 games. Last week, Maurizio Sarri’s team lost 3-1 to Feyenoord in De Kuip.

Atlético loses top position

Atlético Madrid also did not have a good general for the upcoming Champions League match with Celtic. Diego Simeone’s team choked on Gran Canaria in Las Palmas and thus lost the top position in Primera División.

On November 28, Atlético will come to Rotterdam for the second match against Feyenoord. In Madrid the victory went to the Spaniards (3-2).

Feyenoord will visit RKC Waalwijk on Saturday (6.45 p.m.).
