Ralfs Orste wins the victory over “FS Masters/Ulbroka” for Käkavians
Tonight in the ELVI floorball league for men, one match took place – “Ķekava/RB&B” hosted the team “FS Masters/Ulbroka” on their field. In an exciting 19-goal battle, the Kekavians won 10:9. The hero of the match was Ralfs Orste, who scored the decisive goal five (!) seconds before the end of regular time.
This was the second time the Ķekavians and Ulbročians met this season. At the beginning of the tournament, when the two teams crossed paths at the Ulbroka sports complex, the home team won 6-2. Even after that, the success of the two teams was different, because the Ulbroka team has strengthened itself in the 3rd place, while the Ķekava floorball players were even outside the top eight before this match – in the 9th position.
Tonight, from the very beginning of the game, there was an extremely intense battle on the field. At the beginning of the match, Andy Umbert Barrus from Keka took the lead twice for the home team, but in both cases Ulbrok floorball players Emils Jančevskis and Kristers Babris responded with goals, so the result was a draw again – 2:2. In the 18th minute, Kevin Schmidt put the guests in the lead for the first time – 3:2. After the first period, the Ulbroka team had a one-goal advantage – 4:3. During the second third, the Ulbro people doubled their handicap – 7:5. By the middle of the second period, the home team recovered twice (7:7 and 8:8). The score was tied, or 9:9, three minutes before the end of regular time, when Rolands Kovalevskis, the leader of the visitors’ attack, scored a tie. The fate of the match was decided in the very last seconds of regular time, when Ralf Orste scored the winning goal after a pass from Markus Januszewski. “Ķekava/RB&B” celebrated a hard-earned success with 10:9 and recorded three points in the tournament table.
The best player award went to Markus Januszewski, who was also the top scorer with 5 (1+4) points. Andy Umbert Barrus and Raivo Simson scored two goals each, and Kristaps Laugal scored 2 (1+1) points. Rolanda Kovalevski, who scored two goals, was recognized as the best among Ulbrocians. 2 (1+1) points for Krister Babri, three points each were collected by Matīss Kristiāns Morozovs and Toms Bitmanis, but the most productive with 5 (3+2) points was Kevin Schmidt. After this victory, “Ķekava/RB&B” jumped immediately to 6th place with 15 points, while the team “FS Masters/Ulbroka” still has 21 points and 3rd place.
