If, for example, Zintis Ekmanis was leading the Latvian Rugby Federation, then the public drama about this incident would be completely different. We would be abandoned in our rugby development for several decades, our competitors would pass us by as if they were standing still – sponsors would turn away, the international community would vomit, someone would try to stop the athletes themselves from suicide attempts, and most importantly – the fan would be grossly cheated… Yes, what else! The coach of the national team would say that he is already in the coffin and will signal with his right eyelid when the lid can be put on…
This is how Latvian bobsledders feel now, realizing that the country cannot give them as much this year as in other years. But other years were given because Zintis Ekmanis grunted – with a black mouth. They ran and shouted, convinced and threatened – being in one person both the bride and the groom, and both ushers together, and the pastor with a cross, and the wedding musician – with a popular repertoire at the end of the evening. Zinča was luxurious both in execution and result, and therefore he can be understood in these gray autumn days – because he is thrown… The Ministry has determined the priority sports and in this equation, bobsleigh has only received parentheses.
