Kansas City Royals Sign Mexican Pitcher Luis Cessa and Three Others to Minor League Contracts

The Kansas City Royals organization announced this Saturday morning the signing of four players with Minor League contracts, including Mexican pitcher Luis Cessa.

It was through social networks where the team also announced the arrival of left-handed pitcher Austin Cox, catcher Logan Porter and outfielder Diego Hernández.

Cessa, 31 years old, has eight seasons of experience in Major League Baseball (MLB), wearing the New York Yankees and Cincinnati Reds jerseys.

The native of Córdoba, Veracruz, Mexico has a lifetime record of 208 games played in the Major Leagues, in which he left a record of 17-22 with a 4.43 ERA, 425 innings pitched, 331 strikeouts and 1.33 WHIP.

During this year, Cessa only saw action in seven games with the Reds, six of them as a starter, in which he left a record of one victory by four losses, 9.00 ERA, 26 innings struck out, 11 strikeouts and 2.23 WHIP.
