SANTO DOMINGO.- Since his debut in the 2009-2010 season, Junior Lake has earned the respect of players, managers and fans of Dominican baseball, first as a great prospect and then for what he has shown in this ball for more than a decade.
Opening the third inning of the game against the Gigantes del Cibao at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal stadium, Lake singled to center field against Johan Domínguez. Already in the first base, when Abraham Almonte had a 1-1 count, he stole second base, thus achieving the feat and his fourth steal of the season.
“Happy with what happened tonight, grateful to God for the opportunity he has given me, to the fans and to my family for their support. It has been a lot of sacrifice because it has been hard work, a path of ups and downs but it was worth it,” said the 33-year-old player after finishing the game.
