After 4 seasons marked by two cruciate ligament ruptures, Jeff Reine-Adélaïde left Olympique Lyonnais. The 25-year-old midfielder signed up for Molenbeek in Belgium where he finally found some playing time (8 matches in all competitions, 495 minutes played, 1 assist). He hopes to have left all his physical worries behind him, he who has not been spared since the start of his career. “I try to move forward, help my teammates and above all have fun. This pleasure that I have missed so much over the last three years… I went through a big period of doubt and like any player in this situation, I thought about stopping football. But JRA fought to return to the physical level and regain confidence. He explains that he had to force his nature by opening up more about his problems in order to free himself. “It was very hard mentally, but I received the necessary support. My family supported me, Claudio Caçapa too, whom I knew well in Lyon and for whom I signed here. I also called on a mental trainer with whom I did visualization. I’m someone who doesn’t open up easily, but with him, I had to talk about my emotions and it did me a lot of good. » Let’s hope for him that this is the start of a new career.
