El Alto, Nov 29, 2023 (ATB Digital).-The ‘Municipal Interschool Sports Championship’ begins, organized for the first time by the Mayor’s Office of El Alto in which teams from La Paz, Viacha and El Alto will participate.
“The objective is for our children from the Municipal Sports Schools to begin a stage of competition, because it is good that they have contact with other municipalities and that they enter this first stage in their sports training,” said the person in charge of the Municipal Sports Schools of El Alto, Jhimmy Roque.
The teams from the three municipalities will compete in the disciplines of basketball, volleyball and indoor soccer, in the under 12 and under 17 categories.
The matches will take place on November 29 and 30 and December 1 at the “Heriberto Gutiérrez” Multifunctional Center, located in La Ceja de El Alto.
“We are motivating athletes who are starting their competitive stage, we are going to reward first place with a trophy, medals and certificate, second place with trophies and certificate and third place with certificates and medals,” said the public servant.
Roque expressed that these types of events are unique, for children and young people from the Municipal Sports Schools to demonstrate their talent.
In the city of El Alto there are about 35 Municipal Sports Schools that offer different disciplines such as: basketball, swimming, psychomotor skills, volleyball, futsal, soccer and badminton. This year, however, it was innovated with athletics and Zumba.
