Iga Swiatek Dominates WTA Finals and Climbs Back to Number One in World Rankings

Swiatek continued her strong form from recent tournaments and showed a dominant performance at the WTA finals. The 22-year-old was able to win each of her matches and thus collect the maximum amount of prize money.

The four-time Grand Slam winner was crowned the youngest winner of the WTA finals since Petra Kvitova in 2011 and climbed back to the top of the world rankings at the end of the year.

The direct competitor for number one in women’s tennis, Aryna Sabalenka, already failed in the semifinals against the Pole 3:6, 2:6.

The total prize money for the WTA Finals was increased by an impressive 80% compared to the previous year, meaning the winner’s bonus was even higher than at Wimbledon, for example – where the winner received around 2.7 million euros after two weeks.
