Humphries triumphs at Grand Slam

Luke Humphries confirmed his top form a few weeks before the World Cup and has finally joined the ranks of the top favorites. The 28-year-old Englishman won the Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton on Sunday evening and celebrated his next major title after his triumph at the World Grand Prix. Humphries clearly defeated compatriot Rob Cross 16:8 in the final. In the afternoon he defeated James Wade 16:10.

Humphries is the man of the hour on the darts tour. He earned by far the most prize money in the 2023 calendar year. For the World Cup at Alexandra Palace in London, the bookmakers are trading him on the same level as Michael van Gerwen (Netherlands) and Gerwyn Price (Wales). The most important tournament of the year begins on December 15th and ends on January 3rd with the final.
