Here is the DP Tour 2024, waiting for Manassero in South Africa – Other Sports

There isn’t even time to put aside 2023 as the DP World Tour is already projecting itself to 2024 with the first double event of the new season. From 23 to 26 November, the top continental men’s circuit will be protagonist respectively in Brisbane with the Australian PGA Championship and in Johannesburg with the Joburg Open.

In South Africa there will be five Italians competing: Matteo Manassero, Francesco Laporta, Lorenzo Scalise, Andrea Pavan (all four were promoted from the Challenge Tour) and Renato Paratore, returning to the circuit after gaining the pass in the Qualifying School finals in Spain. While in Australia, defending the blue colors here is Pietro Bovari.

High stakes are at stake in Johannesburg where the top three finishers, unless otherwise exempt, will earn a place in the 152nd edition of The Open, the oldest Major in the discipline scheduled from 18 to 21 July in Ayrshire, Scotland. After the exploit of 2022, the Englishman Dan Bradbury dreams of the “double”. Three players from LIV Golf will also take to the field: the South Africans Branden Grace (champion in 2012), Charl Schwartzel (winner in both 2010 and 2011) and Dean Burmester. Also in Australia, seven players from the Arab Super League stand out in the field. From Cameron Smith (number 18 in the world, he was in third place before moving to the league financed by the PIF whose tournaments are not yet recognized by the official world golf ranking), who will defend the title won not only in 2022, but also in 2017 and in 2018, to Marc Leishman. From Joaquin Niemann to Mito Pereira via Jediah Morgan, Wade Ormsby and Laurie Canter. Opportunity for Bovari, who has obtained the full “card” for the Challenge but will now have, in his second professional race, the chance to compete on the DP World Tour.

For the Azzurri it is a new beginning. There is anticipation for Manassero who dreams of a season as a protagonist to aim for the Paris Olympics.
