Get to Know the Key Players in the TSSAA Football Playoffs: Memphis Area Standouts

The TSSAA football playoffs are finally here. As we get ready for the postseason with several Memphis area schools in the field, here’s a look at the players you should know.

Note: All stats are as of Thursday, Oct. 27, prior to the Week 11 games kicking off Friday.

Geron Johnson, Bartlett: Johnson has 1,550 rushing yards and 19 rushing touchdowns for the Panthers.

David Milburn, Bartlett: Milburn leads the team with 63 tackles and 17 tackles for loss. He also has three sacks.

Cade Carlson, Briarcrest: Carlson has 1,167 passing yards and 10 touchdowns in his senior season.

JoJo Saleem, Briarcrest: Saleem has 658 rushing yards and nine touchdowns ahead of the TSSAA football playoffs.

Aidan Glover, Collierville: Entering the final week of the season, Glover, a Missouri football commit, has 1,620 passing yards and 19 touchdowns. He also has 274 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns.

Joakim Dodson, Collierville: Dodson is the leading receiver with 677 yards and five touchdowns.

Skylan Smith, Covington: Smith has 1,696 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns this season for the Chargers.

Brian Shields, First Assembly Christian School: Shields has 1,490 rushing yards and 29 rushing touchdowns this season. He has nearly 2,100 all-purpose yards this year.

BJ Blake, Germantown: Blake, an Austin Peay football commit, has 929 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns.

Jamarion Morrow, Germantown: Morrow has 944 all-purpose yards and nine total touchdowns this season for the Red Devils.

Chandler Day, Houston: Day has 1,437 passing yards and 19 touchdowns.

Damon Sisa, Houston: Sisa has 732 all-purpose yards, including 602 rushing yards, and 11 total touchdowns this season.

Stanley Burrow, MASE: Burrow leads the team with 113 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, six sacks and two interceptions.

Rhyan Brown, Melrose: Brown has more than 1,000 all-purpose yards this season with 19 total touchdowns.

Cameron Miller, Melrose: Miller has five interceptions, 30 tackles and two forced fumbles this season for the Golden Wildcats.

Brady Hughes, Memphis University School: Hughes has 1,416 passing yards with 17 passing touchdowns this season with the Owls.

Brandon Nicholson, Memphis University School: Nicholson, a Stanford football commit, leads the team with four interceptions this season.

Hudson Shoaf, MUS: Shoaf leads the team with 89 tackles, including 19 tackles for loss, seven sacks and two interceptions.

Jonathan Temple Dowdy, Millington: Dowdy had 501 all-purpose yards and six touchdowns for the Trojans this season. He also has 43 tackles, 15 tackles for loss and eight sacks.

McCoy Pugh, Millington: Pugh, a quarterback for the Trojans, has 1,552 total yards and 23 total touchdowns ahead of the postseason.

Damontae Dillard, Northpoint: Dillard has 731 rushing yards with 15 rushing touchdowns for the Trojans.

Jack Patterson, Northpoint: Patterson, a Central Arkansas football commit, has 1,437 passing yards and 13 touchdowns.

Radarious Jackson, Sheffield: Jackson has 1,637 all-purpose yards and 26 total touchdowns this season for the Knights.

Kavio Benton, Southwind: Benton, a Memphis football commit, had 44 tackles, 15 tackles for loss and six sacks during the regular season.

Antoine Keefer, Southwind: Keefer leads the team with 60 tackles entering the postseason. He also has nine tackles for loss and four sacks.

Kelvin Perkins, Southwind: Perkins has 1,616 passing yards and 26 passing touchdowns this season for the Jaguars. He also has 375 rushing yards and seven touchdowns.

Tristan Boyce, Whitehaven: Boyce has 485 receiving yards with four touchdowns as the leading receiver for the Tigers.

Christopher Talley, Whitehaven: Talley has 831 rushing yards and eight touchdowns. He also has 158 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
