SPORT1 is the new “Home of Baseball” in German-speaking countries and, in addition to the extensive broadcasts on SPORT1+ and SPORT1 Extra during the MLB season, also regularly shows live games on free TV. Commentator Günter Zapf and baseball expert Matthias Ondracek will be on hand at the microphone. In the new season, the special focus from a German perspective is once again on Berlin’s Max Kepler from the Minnesota Twins. For top star Kepler and the Twins, the goal is to qualify for the postseason again after a mixed year. The main thing is to build on the 2019 season, when Minnesota set a new major league season record with 307 home runs. At that time, Kepler contributed a personal best of 36 home runs. The current title holders are the Atlanta Braves, the team prevailed in the World Series against the Houston Astros.
