Germani Brescia Overcomes Vanoli Cremona in Home Victory

Germani Brescia, after the victory against Tortona, found success in front of their fans by overcoming Vanoli Cremona in the final.

The first two-ball goes to Germani who finds the first two points of the match from the line with Semaj Christon. Christon again scores from the low post in the following possession and scores the first mini-partial for Brescia who escapes with a 4-0 lead. For Cremona it is Zanotti who inaugurates the scoreboard with a triple from distance. Here comes a partial of 6 to 0 for Germani thanks to baskets by Bilan and Della Valle and Akele’s free throw (10 to 3 score in the 3rd minute). Cremona is quick to respond with Denegri’s triple and Zegarowski’s 2+1 which make it -1 at 10-9. Germani tries to take off again, but Zegarowski’s triple makes it -1 again (13 to 12 the score in the 5th minute). Brescia decides to increase the intensity in defense, Cremona can no longer find the back of the net and Germani can take off flying at +11 (23 to 12 the score in favor of Brescia). After 3 minutes of play it was Pecchia who finally unblocked the guests and brought Vanoli back to -10. Gabriel lands a powerful dunk on the break and sets the first quarter at 25-13.

Cobbins opens the second quarter, but Golden is quick to respond for Vanoli. Lacey’s basket and Denegri’s triple bring Cremona back to -9 and forces Coach Magro to time out (29 to 20 score at 12′). Germani still struggles in attack and Golden’s basket is worth the new -7, but here comes the reaction from Brescia who with two triples in rapid succession from Gabriel and Cournooh escapes again to +13 and this time forces Coach Cavina to timeout (35 the score in favor of Brescia at 22). Denegri, Golden and Zegarowski take control of the situation for the guests and bring Vanoli back to -7 (38 to 31 score in the 17th minute). Germani is no longer able to find the back of the net and Zegarowski’s triple brings Cremona back to -4 with 90” left to play in the second quarter. Christon penetrating finally unlocks Germani but Adrian’s free throw closes the first half at 40-35.

Third quarter that begins with a back and forth from beyond the arc between the two teams on the pitch, Petrucelli on one side and Adrian and Zanotti on the other. Two triples in quick succession by McCullough bring the score back to a tie at 48-48. Akele’s dunk and Petrucelli’s penetrating basket bring Germani back up to +4 (52 to 48 the score in the 25th minute). The gap between the two teams remains almost unchanged with Cremona returning numerous times to -2 until the moment in which Germani, raising the pace in defense again, places a partial of 7 to 2 which brings Brescia to +7 (65 to 58 the score at 29′). Golden’s basket 7” from the end of the third quarter sets the score at 65 to 60 in favor of Germani.

Massinburg’s triple opens the fourth quarter and brings Germani back to +8, Golden responds with 5 points in a row thus bringing Cremona back to -3, but Massinburg has decided to light up and with 5 points in quick succession responds to Golden and forces Coach Cavina at the timeout with 6 minutes to play in the fourth quarter. Vanoli tries but fails to find the back of the net and Germani with Cobbins takes advantage of it to extend the lead to +9 (75 to 66 the score in the 36th minute). Denegri’s triple brings the guests back to -6 and Zagerowski’s subsequent basket closes the gap again to -4 (75 to 71 with 90” to play). For Brescia it is Massinburg who takes the chestnuts out of the fire, first winning two free throws and then making them, bringing Germani back to +6. Cremona tries until the end but Germani does well to control the lead and Petrucelli’s final triple closes the match at 84 to 75.
