A silver and a bronze for the FVG masters at the Italian championships in Follonica
Sardinia with Karalis Judo in the women’s field and Lazio with Judo Fondi in the men’s field achieved first place in the club rankings at the Italian master championships organized in Follonica. There were six clubs with the same score (10) in the women’s ranking, and with Karalis Judo also Judo Club Fornaci, Castel del Piano, Judo Fazi, Universo Prato and Kwai Amiatino, which the competition regulations ordered in this ‘order.
Our region was present in various categories with eight registered athletes and two medals won. This is the silver of Antonino Tripi of DLF Yama Arashi Udine in the M2/3 – 90 kg category and the bronze of Maurizio Bertoni of Judo Kuroki Tarcento, in the M6/8 – 66 Kg.
“It was a great competition in a very close category. – commented Tripi – Obviously I would have preferred to repeat the gold in 2022, but I return home with new ideas and the awareness of having made mistakes”.
“I am really happy with this medal which rewards my perseverance, but also the work of the club and all the people who have always been close to me. – said Bertoni – I do judo for passion but also to keep fit and this result, which I had always wanted, really came at the right time.”
At the foot of the podium with fifth positions remain Giuseppe Infantino of DLF Yama Arashi Udine in the M6/8 + 90, Giuliano Casco in the M4/5 +90 and Davide Mauri M4/5 -90 of Judo Kuroki Tarcento. However, the tests were unlucky for Jonny Volpe of Judo Kuroki Tarcento in the M4/5 +90, who suffered an injury, Lillo Montalto Monella in the M2/3 -81 who did not exceed the recoveries and Davide Bronzin in the M4/5 -66, who was not recovered after a lost match.
“I am happy with the good turnout of Friulian judokas at this important competition. Regardless of the results, it is a testament to the consistency and passion of our regional masters. Certainly a positive boost to the entire movement.” These are the words of Stefano Peressinotto, Master regional manager who accompanied our judokas on this trip.
