Tradition dictates that the Blues’ first outdoor training session be very light and that Kylian Mbappé does not participate in favor of indoor exercises. This Monday in Clairefontaine, this custom was respected. Before going to the Pierre Pibarot pitch, the 23 players and members of the staff, however, gathered for a minute of silence in memory of the 130 victims of the attacks of November 13, 2015 in Paris.
On the pitch, only nine players from the France team came to train for a very quiet session. Olivier Giroud, William Saliba, Jean-Clair Todibo and Warren Zaire-Emery completed a few laps of the field and sprints. Arriving at midday, the Parisian midfielder, who was at the center of journalists’ questions for Didier Deschamps, appeared very serious. Sometimes shy.

In the center of the field, Kingsley Coman, Adrien Rabiot, Randal Kolo Muani, who did not play this weekend and Lucas Hernandez had the right to support exercises and a small opposition in two against two, before finishing by strikes in front of goal.
For the occasion, Robin Risser, the third goalkeeper of the Espoirs, who plays in Dijon in National, came to serve as a bulwark to stop the Blues’ strikes. Tuesday, the world vice-champions will meet at 5:30 p.m. for à la carte training, which may not concern all the players, in front of 500 guests (former players, presidents and trainers) who have come to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the INF Clairefontaine.
The serious things will begin on Wednesday with training open to the public in order to prepare for the matches against Gibraltar (Saturday in Nice) and Greece (November 21 in Athens). Two matches counting for the Euro 2024 qualifiers, for which Didier Deschamps’ men are already qualified.
