Formula 1: Lewis Hamilton’s beautiful tribute to Ayrton Senna during the Brazilian Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton has never hidden his admiration for Ayrton Senna, the Brazilian driver who died in 1994. On the occasion of the Brazilian Formula 1 GP on Sunday at the Interlagos circuit, the seven-time world champion decided to pay tribute to his youth idol as he revealed this Thursday on his social networks.

The Mercedes driver will wear a helmet in the colors of Brazil which takes the design of that of Ayrton Senna. We can also see the Brazilian flag on the top or the Christ the Redeemer of Rio de Janeiro on the back.

Lewis Hamilton also showed up this Thursday with a special outfit. His pants feature the Brazilian colors while Ayrton Senna’s helmeted face has been drawn on the back of his jacket.

Hamilton has always maintained a close relationship with Brazil where he was made an honorary citizen last year. In 2008, he won his first world title on the Interlagos circuit. He won this Grand Prix in 2016, 2018, 2021 where he celebrated this success by brandishing the Brazilian flag on the podium.

In 2017 during the 2017 Canadian Grand Prix, where Hamilton achieved his 65th pole position, equaling Senna, the family of the three-time world champion presented him with a helmet worn in the race by the Brazilian.
