Former National Badminton Player Yoo Yeon-soo Under Investigation for Alleged Forcible Molestation

Former national badminton player Yoo Yeon-soo is being investigated by the police on charges of forcibly molesting a woman.

Incheon Yeonsu Police Station is investigating former national badminton team member Yoo Yeon-soo on charges of forcible harassment.

Mr. Yoo was arrested in the United States last July on charges of forcible harassment, but was reportedly released on bail and returned to Korea.

Afterwards, the victim filed a complaint against Mr. Yu to our police. The police forwarded Mr. Yu on the 23rd with a recommendation for indictment, but the prosecution ordered a supplementary investigation and is conducting an additional investigation.

Mr. Yoo, who also won gold medals in the men’s doubles and team events at the Asian Games, is known to have been teaching students at home and abroad after retiring last year.
