Football: Jean-Michel Aulas proposed as vice-president of the FFF

It was in the pipeline and it’s now official. Submitted by the president of the FFF, Philippe Diallo, the idea of proposing Jean-Michel Aulas as vice-president of the French Football Federation was “decided unanimously”, the FFF indicated this Thursday via a press release . The next federal assembly, which will determine the lucky one, will be held on December 16.

Jean-Michel Aulas managed Olympique Lyonnais for 36 years before selling the club to the American group Eagle Football in December 2022. He was then hastily ousted from the presidency of OL in June by the American businessman John Textor, the new owner. Member of the FFF executive committee since 2017, Aulas is also president of the women’s high level commission at the Federation.

“I am very proud and happy with the trust granted. I will put all my energy, all my experience and all my passion for football at the service of the FFF and the best interests of French football. My investment will be total, like my involvement in the plan to professionalize women’s football that we are implementing with the Federation’s Professional Women’s Football League,” declares the former OL boss.

“Proposing Jean-Michel Aulas to the position of vice-president seemed logical and legitimate to me. I am happy that he accepted this proposal and the entire executive committee with me. His experience in high-level men’s and women’s football and his economic expertise represent a considerable asset for our Federation,” explains Philippe Diallo.
