In the sixth week of the Greek Basketball League, Panathinaikos defeated Aris 65-75 on the road and continued its undefeated leadership.
Panathinaikos head coach Ergin Ataman stood in front of the microphone after the match and evaluated the match.
Ergin Ataman’s statements are as follows:
“We arrived in Thessaloniki last night (Saturday, November 11) after the ALBA Berlin match and frankly we did not have much time to prepare for the match. We had a great attack in the ALBA match, but today we knew that we would play against an aggressive defensive team like Aris, and we were also aware that the atmosphere would be very challenging. We started the match well, but at one point Aris reacted and became a partner in the game. In the third quarter, we attacked smartly against the opponent’s matched field defense, thus widening the gap. We maintained our lead in the last quarter and won the match. Even though we didn’t play great basketball today, we put character on the court, and although we scored few points, we defended very effectively. “It was an important win for us.”
