England: a 5th division club will recruit its future performance analyst thanks to Football Manager

Even better than augmented reality. This Tuesday, FC Bromley, an English fifth division club, published a press release which will probably delight all fans of the famous video game Football Manager. During a collaboration with Xbox, coach Andy Woodman announced, through a video, that the club was looking to recruit a new performance and tactics analyst to join his staff.

To apply, nothing could be simpler: simply complete a season with any club on FM24 on Xbox by finishing as champion, and accompany this final victory with a one-minute video proving your motivation and ability to help the Bromley club. The lucky one will be recruited for a period of 5 months from January 2024 and will be paid fifteen euros per hour.

“For the launch of FM24, we’re giving one talented Football Manager player the chance to live their football dreams into reality, by becoming a paid tactician for Bromley FC. The player will not need a CV or degree in analytics; instead, you will be judged on your skills and performance in Football Manager 2024 which you can play now with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate” we can read on the brand’s website.

The objective of this whole process is above all to try to help the club climb to the fourth division, a performance never achieved since the creation of FC Bromley, 131 years ago. “I maintain that this is not a publicity stunt. “It’s a real opportunity for us to work with someone internally who will really add value to us,” club manager Andy Woodman told the Daily Mail. The club from the London suburbs is currently fourth in its championship after nineteen days and remains well in the race to qualify for the playoffs.
