The anticipation is palpable: From March 9th to 18th, 2024, the ElbAkademie will travel to Belmont near San Francisco. Over 20 talented players from various regions of northern Germany, including Braunschweig, Wolfsburg, Dohren, Hamburg and Lütjensee, will take part in this unique baseball experience.
The trip not only offers the opportunity to intensively prepare for the 2024 season, but also promises daily games and exclusive training in the “HitClub”. The players can look forward to an intensive training period that will take their skills to a new level.
The roots of the ElbAkademie still remember humble beginnings four years ago, when training took place on a dog meadow. Now the academy faces the exciting challenge of competing against a top-class academy from California. David Wohlgemuth, trainer at the ElbAkademie, shares his enthusiasm: “It will be a unique experience for the kids. I’m super happy that we implemented this. Incomprehensible. Four years ago we had to train at the dog park, and now we’re playing against a SUPER academy from California. I’m looking forward to a great experience, lots of good games, new friends and of course really good baseball.”
The training camp is not only led by the experienced coaches vanMeensel and Wohlgemuth, but also by former Bundesliga players who share their knowledge and experience to support the young talents in their development.
The ElbAkademie is not just going on a trip to California; She goes on a journey of further development, team spirit and international exchange. This baseball adventure will undoubtedly be a formative experience for the players and their coaches.
