The new coach wins over his superiors and his players at Eintracht Frankfurt. This was also necessary after the personnel changes in the summer. Where should the football club go now?

Since Thursday there has been real life in the place again. Ten national players have previously traveled around the world with their national teams. The fact that they returned to Frankfurt unscathed despite the additional hardships was one of the positive findings that cemented Dino Toppmöller’s optimism at the start of the year-end spurt. The coach and his Frankfurt soccer team have had a real run recently, and the fall was extremely respectable. Eintracht were last defeated 2-1 in the European Cup in Thessaloniki on October 5th, before eight competitive games followed, of which they won six.

This meant they moved up to the top midfield in the Bundesliga ahead of the clash with VfB Stuttgart this Saturday (6.30 p.m. in the FAZ live ticker for the Bundesliga and on Sky), moved into the round of 16 in the DFB Cup and kept their chance of qualifying Conference League as group winners to earn the best starting position for the knockout phase next spring. “We want to continue to climb up,” Toppmöller said before the duel with the Swabians.
