It was in front of a silent Borrelli stand that the second half of the match between Caen and Quevilly began, this Saturday, November 11, 2023. The supporters of the Stade Malherbe showed their discontent during a meeting marked by new defensive failures (3-3).
Before kick-off, three sentences were written on large tarpaulins deployed by the Malherbe Normandy Kop. It read: “players, it’s up to you to play and win”, “PA Capton, it’s up to you to make the right decisions” and finally “act for the SMC!” »
Whistles against Romain Thomas
Trailing in the middle of this half after conceding two goals in quick succession, the Caennais were mocked during part of this half. “Get off your ass”, “wet your jersey”, “we’re getting fucked…” chanted some supporters. Others whistled at captain Romain Thomas, who was in difficulty conceding goals, with each of his balls touched.

Mocking chants also descended from the Borrelli stand, like the parody of Orelsan’s song which had so displeased Stéphane Moulin two years earlier (“deep down, I like the Stade Malherbe, I don’t know for what reason. Not only do we only lose, but we also lose at home.”) There were also a few “olé” on long aerial balls. And at half-time, whistles sounded despite the Caen equalizer and the good reaction of the locals before the break.

In the second half, after Queville’s third goal, “Pickeu, resignation” fell from the stands. An old song was then brought up to date: “There is only one, Jean-François Fortin…” Later, Olivier Pickeu, deputy president of the club, suffered insults. The kop called for it after the final whistle and Olivier Pickeu then spoke on the microphone. A speech which did not really convince those concerned.
