Atlético Nacional is experiencing the joys of victory after being crowned champion of the 2023 BetPlay Cup against Millonarios, at the Atanasio Girardot stadium, but after winning the title, Dimayor ruled on sanctioning its star Dorlan Pabón

In the home run match between Medellín and Atlético Nacional, ‘Memín’ ended up being expelled for verbally attacking referee Wilmar Roldán with offensive language and he did not hesitate to throw him out of the game.

According to the arbitration body’s report, Pabón would have said “don’t tell him anything, he’s always screwing up”, but Nacional wanted to demonstrate that said language was not evident in the video.

Although Atlético Nacional appealed to reduce Dorlan Pabón’s punishment, the Disciplinary Committee once again issued a resolution, confirming that that decision is maintained.

“Denoting the expulsion decision that fell on the player Dorlan Pabón, consisting of a suspension of three (3) dates and a fine of three million four hundred and eighty thousand pesos ($3,480,000) for being guilty of “using offensive, rude or obscene language against match official,” says Dimayor’s resolution.
